Have you checked to see if you have exhaust gases in your coolant? Which would indicate an internal head gasket leak, rather than the external kind which shows signs of coolant on the ground, etc. bob On Apr 26, 2011, at 3:48 PM, Dake Collins wrote: > I recently had my 1.9 WBX replaced with a 2.1 - more power and it runs very smooth - I like it. The problem is that about 1/2 pint of coolant seems to disappear about every 200 miles. There's no sign of a leak, no odor of coolant, no sign of it on the dip stick. The mechanic (reputable VW shop) has been over it from top to bottom a couple of times with no luck. Does anybody have any idea what's happening? > thanks, > > Dake > '84 Westy 2.1 WBX 'Wu-Wei' |
