Subject: Longer Lasting Clutch?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Lots of *factors involved in clutch wear, but it seems mine hasn't lasted that long. Clutch disc showed ~ 1/3 left last time I checked and pedal grabs higher up these days. Clutch works ok but I see a clutch job coming up soon.

Had thought a diesel clutch might be more robust and fit my needs, but it's a smaller diameter than gas clutch. (I'm running a Kennedy "WBX" flywheel)

Any users running a more robust non stock clutch on stock clutch housing/flywheel? Has it lasted longer under normal use than the stock (Sachs?) clutch?

Neil.

* I run a Jetta engine, use my Westy on dirt roads sometimes. There *may* have been a *little* oil or grease contamination on my clutch at one point. Otherwise all else is in good shape.
