This whole business seems really bizarre. Is it really of some benefit in preventing the radio from being stolen? It isn't that marvelous a radio, anyway, and stealing it would not be something to be done in a couple of minutes. At any rate, this radio locking must not apply to all Vanagons. I have had the battery out or disconnected on several occasions, and the radio has never gone into this mode. Should I look for something that must be not working properly, or should I be thankful that this particular "improvement" is missing from my camper? mcneely
