As someone who has had to build Mains-operated products for use around the world, I would like to interject here that standard voltage in the British Isles, and some of their former holdings, was 240 volts, not 220. 220 was found on the Continent and in plenty of other places around the world. The harmonization of standards in the '90s split the difference to 230v. That British refrigerator might be 240, it might be 230, but it would not be 220 unless it was intended for use elsewhere.

This might not make any difference, I know nothing about the voltage compliance of a refrigerator. I'm just tossing out a bit of information.
