Thanks Dennis.

I'll double check, but maybe my inverter draws power even when turned off. If so, I'm inclined to install a "kill" switch between inverter and aux. battery. Likely the inverter is internally fused, but maybe a good opportunity to install a fuse between battery and inverter.

It hasn't been powered up for at least a month prior to this work. There are loads connected to the + post of the inverter that have been used. Can't see how that would cause the inverter to store a charge though.
