I've always figured that a vehicle that is obviously a camper, with out of
State plates, parked virtually anywhere, is a magnet for those so inclined
to break in and take what they can find.  This is especially true in the
city or when in very isolated places and the vehicle is not attended.  So
it's just common sense to put anything attractive out of sight like you dash
mounted GPS (and the mount) or laptops or cameras, etc.  An internal motion
sensitive alarm makes being inside the vehicle very uncomfortable and would
act as a deterrent.  Using some common sense (don't make the Westy look any
more tempting than it already is) should minimized the risk from the
adventurous teenager.  It's not going to even slow down the pro.
