So, evidently I do not have a code radio. Do they have a light signal all the time, so that someone looking into the vehicle would see the signal, and supposedly know that that means there is no point in stealing the radio? Of course, many vehicles now have a blinking symbol that indicates an ignition lock that makes starting virtually impossible without a key, as a theft deterrent. If so, it makes me think somewhat of mimicry in nature. If many VWs have code radios, then the word might get around that there is no point in stealing a VW radio, and we would all be protected in that way, code radio or not. Of course, in general, stealing of auto electronics is a much less frequent crime than it used to be.Thanks, mcneely
