Hi Jeff, it's not a cable, it's a rod, right ? for an auto trans.

those are weird. two ways .. loosen the lock nut, remove the throttle body from the plenum by the two screws, and 'unscrew' the whole t-body off the rod, and the part that goes through the lever on the t-body just stays in place in that lever.

or .. push that spring on the rod back, like with a needle nose pliers, then remove that small clip on the end. then the rod will come out of the throttle body lever.

Unless there's a good reason to remove that clip which has spring pressure on it, I just use the first method normally.
