I have a zetec. If you have questions you'd like to ask off list, i can answer them or divert you to those who can answer better than Me. I see little point in debating this though short of giving my basic opinion. Facts, can be determined through a little research. (Such as ground clearance options and support questions).

In a nutshell: I love the zetec. It's an insanely available engine, with insanely available parts. It runs like a champ, and it's a great package. There are huge advantages to doing a conversion yourself with the help of incredible documentation, over 'just paying to have it done'. Oh ya, did I mention that with the zetec, you have the option of upgrading to a turbo later if you wish, which brings the cost too nearly that of the turnkey 2.5, you can't make the same type of documented and supported upgrades to a subaru down the road if you wish too. I love suby's. I've driven many, and I've planned to put a few in. I was on the suby-list for 2 years. But I also love my zetec. Different strokes for different folks.

I'll answer questions off list. WWW.BOSTIG.COM can answer most.
