Well...yesterday I looked at the wires, tried to start it and had a big burp of smoke come out of the back of the AFM (I think) - dislodging the hose....

Make sure the temp2 is plugged in & the connector/wires are in good shape. If they are I'd change the temp2 sensor. A LOT of the won't start when hot or cold issues come back to that inexpensive little sensor.
