I had seen your ad. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but in my case, the
stock screen zipper is toast. Something I didn't mention.
I was curious to see if the Goop would bond to the screen material I
used. Seems so. Otherwise I would have used the Fabri Tak.
Time will tell. I wish it were only the screen as your kit makes total
sense. WAY easier!
Far be it for me to comment on this topic, (you are the expert!) but I
can now appreciate the variables involved to getting the curves
correct. Even with 2 little cuts made to zipper on new screen for
curve, it's still not 100% (though I suspect this is also due to poor
positioning by not accounting for width of teeth "pushing" screen
further away from tent)
If folding doesn't kill it, it may do for what I intended; another
season of camping.
Mcneely: didn't know of this product. Thanks. Lots of choices. I was
thinking from the POV of what most would have on hand or find easily.
Bottom line: IMO, this was largely a waste of time. i.e. if funds
permit, I'd suggest that time is better spent on a new tent.
Regardless, however kludgy looking, the zippers zip. Time will tell.
Oh ya. One other thought. Had considered using magnets for some kind
of removable screen. Sounds crazy, but if there were a way to sew in
those rare earth type magnets to tent, and flexible magnet strips were
attached to new screen, ...... just a crazy thought. There would
likely be gaps between screen and tent.
