Just got off the phone with the fellow at German Transaxle. I got pricing, lead time, etc., info about the Peloquin torque biasing differential swap. While I was at it, I inquired about modifications to make the auto transmission upshift later when accelerating. Though he did mention that they could modify the governor, he wasn't real enthusiastic about it, citing reliability issues ("burn it up" was a phrase he used). Instead, he said to tighten the accelerator cable. I got confused. "There's the kickdown," he said, "and the accelerator cable." I explained that I can't use the kickdown because of this fused right ankle. "You can still tighten the cable," he said. "The manual is just a guideline, if the cable is tighter, the transmission will shift later." Uh, okay. He's a transmission guy and I'm just a car owner, so I told him that I'd have my mechanic look into it.
