hi.. if hey guy had been saying 'rod' rather than 'cable' ........ he would have been right. there is a 'throttle cable' in an auto trans vanagon of course.. it goes from the gas pedal to the lever on the side of the trans. It is adjustable under the driver's floor.. but that only adjusts how high the pedal is at say, 50 % throttle. it does not affect shifting in any way. I suppose people can be forgiven for saying 'cable' when they mean rod .. or they just don't know that vanagons have a ROD from side of trans to throttle body, and it is adjustable for length .. and that it affects when it shifts, I'm pretty sure. I tweak that adjustment on many of my auto trans cars and vanagons to affect when it shifts up. so your right foot can not push the gas pedal all the way to the floor ? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rocket J Squirrel" <camping.elliott@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:17 AM Subject: Auto Trans: Upshifting later, per GTA?
