Changing flywheels? Unless the depth of the crankshaft recess is IDENTICAL to the flywheel removed, it will indeed change the endplay. That distance IS the endplay control. So, to answer your question: If you're changing the flywheel, you MUST check and adjust the crankshaft endplay.
