RE: GPS on Smartphones Jim, I really appreciate all the details in your response, very helpful. I'm new to the 'Smartphone' stuff, just went to a Droid X less than two months ago. I have both the Mapquest and Google Maps apps loaded into the Droid and have tried them, in fact just spent a few minutes messing with them again. I'm going to have to give them some more time but so far they don't seem to provide the ease of use that my Garmin 7200 provides. But I'm a little slow in getting into the way the Droid interface works, there are probably a whole bunch of features/options that I'm just not finding right off. Thanks again, very good info. BTW, for Vanagon content, I use the GPS in my Westy all the time, I have a car mount for the Droid to use in the Westy, and much of the GPS navigation is to VW/Westy/WetWesties events.
