The NavTeq based "portable maps" aka GPS. Can be augmented with a TOPO (tm) map set that will allow one to switch between the two and learn of the terrain rather than the often misleading NavTeq "turn left at the gator hide nailed to a stump" Good article in the NYTimes on this recently.
