Just an FYI:

I had German Transaxle to this mod (shaving the Governor weights) to an Automatic transmission they rebuilt for a Westy with a Bostig/Zetec conversion.

Ken/GTA has a dyno to test transmissions after they have been rebuilt so he was able to operate the transmission as if it were actually connected to the Bostig conversion and make the adjustments in his shop.

Basically, it stays is each gear longer and does not have the "hunting" issues that I've read about and talked to Daryl about. The higher rpms of the Zetec engine take some getting used to but for in town driving I am learning that I can make it up shift by taking some pressure off the pedal, then cruise at 35/40 mph in 3rd with lower rpms. If I want to suddenly accelerate, the kick down function is set to a very predictable point.

If you put the pedal to floor it stays in 2nd until almost 50 mph! When it shifts into 3rd it still pulls nicely.

These were highly controlled tests :)

I am very happy with the end results BUT I still want to have Daryl take it for a ride. I mean, really, he is THE MAN.

Andrew
