RE: Day Use Fees Ellen, I think you have summed it all up very well. And I agree with you, a $5 a day Use fee is a bargain compared a lot of activities. No objection at all to for taking the family to a grassy lakeside for a picnic and swimming, etc. But what happened previously in Washington was the $5 "Day Use Fee" was being applied to parking lots at vista point/lookouts!! And the rangers playing 'Gotcha!' with the tickets. As I said before, they dropped that program a couple of years ago. I'm waiting to see how this new permit system is implemented.
