How did you determine that E3 would support the current load that use of it may entail? Did you open up the panel and check?

The same fuse panel was used in various VW models from 83-91. Pin E3 is used in all the models I found other than Vanagon. The largest wire connected to it ws 20 awg or .5 mm.

B11 is always the high current connection for fuse #3. Never E3 or B12.

Quantum, Scirocco, Cabriolet, Jetta(German)
