Hi Neil
I will be replacing the foam in my Lower area on the 85 westy as well
and did replace my upper foam with a Firm Memory Foam of 2" and a 1"
2235 (2.2 35 Medium Firm). Bad part is the original cover is not made
for memory foam so you do not sink in properly to get the full effect
or use of the foam. Also bad is the bunk can not be folded for travel
which is a bit of a Pain. But with hovering just under 200 pounds and
will shoulder issues and carpal tunnel issues it is still a help.
To get a Memory foam to be the the way it should be you will need to
cover it in a 4 way stretch fabric like the memory foam pillows. Bad
thing is it won't compliment the interior of your motorcoach.
