Had a buddy in Alaska with an old Dodge Omni with a 1700 cc VAG engine. He was a kind of mechanical nut/genius and built himself a carburetor for it using a Pasche' airbrush and some other stuff. Swore it got 72 mpg. It got totaled in a wreck and he sold it off. Never pursued the carburetor thing again.
