I had a clunking noise in my van during left turns when I first got it. I didn't know anything back then(still don't) and took it to a shop. They said it was the axle and replaced it. It's been fine since. Your problem sounds a little different if it's doing it when you drive straight, but I figured I'd throw it out there.
