Hi Bob. I spent nearly 10 years thinking the same thing. Give it time...the protection wears off as my tow from Layton to SLC last spring (a broken ground) proved. Or the 70 mile tow this spring for a broken accelerator cable. I guess 2 tows in 20 years of vanagon driving isnt too bad! It certainly isn't a result of my mechanical skill, so perhaps it is AAA!
