SeaFoam is, from what I've heard from a talk show car fixit friend of mine, a mixture of one of the good alcohols as well as some petroleum solvents and maybe more. Whatever is in it it does well in the fuel side of the system dissolving carbon and hydrocarbon deposits and binding h2o without titrating out. It also seems to work well as a just before end of oil change additive. Put in what is appropriate based on how far your down on the dipstick you are plus OK to use excess capacity your system can handle (research your oil system). I don't know what is allowable on a 1.9 waterboxer, so if I was to use any oil system solvent I would look at the dipstick and then drain a bit of oil if needed to make room for what the solvent maker suggests is appropriate. Whew! Way too long. I use it before an oil change every 25K or so, and use it in the suck-it- through-the-vacuum-line carbon dissolver mode about every 50K. I've been using SeaFoam for a couple decades (+) and seen no issues and some apparent good. Which is a pretty meaningless sample of one from a biased user. tom
