here's an oil I recently discovered that would be good for vanagons that
sit.
it's high ZDDP formulation oil...
for engines with flat tappet cam followers ( waterboxers and diesels ) with
extra corrosion prevention additives for car that sit for a few
months.....and are then driven a few days. Exactly what many hot rods and
collector type cars that sit around for months at a time need.
it's call Joe Gibbs Hot Rod Oil..............weight is 15W50 .
or Joe Gibbs Driven ...google it if you want.
It's fairly expensive racing oil..
with more ZDDP in it than modern API oils have.
The non-synthetic Hot Rod 15W50 is about 8 to $ 10 a qt .
