I fill the tank only from the inside access.  Even using a water hose, it takes a lot less time.  And btw, someone else mentioned using a garden hose.  Though I sometimes do that, I have and usually use  a potable water RV hookup hose.  The garden hose really isn't intended for potable water use.  mcneely
