my water tank water used to taste bad and I didn't use it for drinking or coffee. That was when I filled the tank with the garden hose. Then I made a hose out of that hose that is used to connect a refrigerator. I think it's 1/4" ID. cost about $0.07 per foot. Fitting to go on the end to connect to a standard hose faucet, couple more $. It's small enough to easily take along on trips and it coils itself back up. To fill, I clip the hose to the cover of the water fill inlet. I know running 5 minutes is about 5 gallons.
