All I meant was that when you're dismantling things and notice that the column wants to rotate, stick the key in and turn it so you can let the steering wheel turn and relieve the stress. You'll still have to haul on the wheel to free up the key, but once you've done it you won't have to fight with the column when you're disassembling and reassembling.
