It's a 2wd manual 90 GL. Doubt its the drive train b/c it is at stop out of gear. I'm starting to think it might be vacuum related. Wondering if a clogged or mal functioning brake booster check valve could do this? b/c I am not getting vacuum at the booster and suspected the valve was the culprit. Once running the engine makes no odd noises so seems like if it was internal I might hear something while running.

Time for me to stop speculating and listen at the rear and up close to see where it is actually coming from...
