tried to measure and I got 3 3/8" and 1 3/4" center to center of the bolts. The width seems to be ok and I got 12 mm bolts in there (filling up the holes), but for the "vertical distance" I got only 10 mm bolts in, otherwise the holes wouldn't have "lined up". Now I am not towing anything (Jenny, the '81 AC has enough to pull herself) and I figured that the rack I have on occasionally, only has downward weight. Hope I added enough confusion :-) Karl. PS. the fellow form the website (I mentioned earlier) answered when I inquired about the distance of the mounting holes: The mounting holes on the hitch is 3.5" across the and 2" up and down center PS. Ron in 2005 mentioned that he found parts form a Landrover which would fit but I was never able to find anything.
