Thanks, Karl. I don't think hitches are made with great precision but they have to be close enough. In my experience, there is always a certain amount of persuasion needed to fit those large course thread bolts even when the holes are a perfect match. But the differences between the Landcruiser towball and the one David measured is quite a bit.

I thought about making the holes oval but that would weaken the hitch not to mention there did not appear enough material on either side.
