Michael, perhaps you do as much as I and my circle do to avoid waste. I walk for most of my in town travel, and though the metropolitan area where I live has poor public transportation, I use it when feasible for trips beyond walking distance. I don't use air conditioning in summer, though I live in Oklahoma. I insulated my roof to 16 inches, and I keep the house at 65 F in daytime in winter. I don't drive the vanagon except for camping trips and maintenance. I drive a Prius for most of my automotive needs. I avoid altogether many things that most people considered essential to their daily lives, to avoid the energy cost in them. But thanks for your suggestion of using a bicycle. And I expect the moderators to be on me for this post.

Sincerely, Dave ---- Michael Rasmussen <michael@JAMHOME.US> wrote: > On Tue, May 24, 2011 at 07:12:07PM -0700, Jeff Schwaia wrote: > > Of course you do... that's why you drive a Vanagon. > > > > On the other hand, perhaps you prefer global warming (climate change in PC terms) over a hole in the ozone layer...
