I've done several and am pretty confident with this job, but I don't think I would ever race the clock! I've never cracked one, but the risk is there. I advise to always replace the gasket with new, or at least have one on hand, just in case the old is damaged, or you damage it during removal/install. This job is much easier with two people! Make sure to clean the mounting area, but beware that you expose metal during cleaning. Some use a spray lubricant to help things along and I think this works well.........but you takes your money and you takes your chances! I no longer do this job though, unless I'm moving a used windshield from one van to another. I've been using the Glass Doctor. If they break it during installation, they replace it. If it's just you, you just ate the cost! Another benefit is their warranty. They repair any rock chips for the life of the windshield, no charge. If it suffers an irreparable chip, you get a new windshield. The windshield is no charge, but they do charge a 100.00 dollar installation fee. This deal suits me just fine. Miguel

Controversial, revolutionary signature line removed as requested........
