And speaking of extra lights.....

I don't know if the newer model campers have a slider door light, but I only had the driver side light (stock '81 Westy)

Ran new wires, switch, plunger thingy on slider door (sure glad I scavenged that from a parts van) and now have a slider door light. It's located where one of the vents was (which had messed up vanes)

Had to run new wires from driver side. In hindsight (easy fix) would have had the slider on a separate switched ground.

And..... there are "courtesy" switches available from VW Mk3's possibly Mk2 (?) (trunk?) that have a notch. Slider door open (duh ;) depress the switch so it rests on notch keeping light off. I understand the stock Vanagon switch can be modified as such (search thesamba for pics) Not sure how useful this is in real life, but, well, there ya have it.
