The nut on the rod that adjusts the parking brake is frozen. I've tried Kroil soaking and heating with a propane torch, but I can;t move it--either tighter or looser.

It looks like a Nylock nut by the shape. Any suggestions? This is on an '87 Syncro, so the skid rails and prop shaft are in the way. Richard ----------- Richard, Sorry to hear of the frozen nut on your parking brake.

Perhaps try a nut-splitter to remove the stuck nut. Run a re-threading die down the rod and install a new nut… Your good to go….

This assumes you have a nut-splitter and the appropriate re-threading die… If not, drive over to John's and bug him… he prolly has these tools!
