I want to remove the panel below the sink/stove--the one where the LED panel is mounted and the gas knobs are.

I have it loose and can pull out the bottom. I thought it just was in a groove of the sink/stove stainless and should come up out of that groove and be off.

Is that right? I can't seem to budge mine, but it does have 24 years of stuff down in that groove. Or is there something I don't know about it?

Thanks, Richard

PS: I want to remove that panel because I smell propane there. The stove burners work fine, but when (at least) one is one, there is a faint propane smell coming through that vent between the knobs.
