In Hubbard county Minnesota at the Fern Township cemetery every Memorial Day the folks gather. It's usually chilly, it's often damp, Colors are presented and someone says a few words and then the names are read of all the veterans buried at that small cemetery. Once a year their names are read out loud, they are not forgotten.

There is a potluck afterward at the town hall.
