sure , if they are just straight 5/8 heater hose.., like just generic heater hose, no big deal.

I haven't had the need for a while to see the hose to the ATF cooler on a 1.9 wbxr vanagon... perhaps they are 'just hose' and it's not a big deal.

shifting subjects slightly . that 'firewall junction' you have .. where the two ATF cooler hoses connect ( and the main coolant hoses ) - that's sort of a rare part. And they break easily ...that small bleed nose nipple, those love to break off.

I have one, and I'm going to add a 2.1 style 'oil heat exchanger' ( called an oil cooler too ) to my 1.9 configuration engine in my 85 Adventurewagon. Since I'm running 2.1 exhaust, there's room for the oil cooler/heat exchanger to fit. I have that part installed already .. just need to install my '1.9 wbxr auto trans firewall fitting' so I can run hoses from it to the oil heat exchanger. Expecting slightly quicker warm up in cold temps. And probably very slightly lower oil temps when things are really hot. Not as good an oil cooler as your fancy set up that you now have, but didn't cost me anything either.

sure, chop 'em off wherever you like. I probably was thinking more on the lines of a 2.1 with auto trans . On some of those they have the oil cooler hose molded right to a main coolant hose in a 'T' . that would be one expensive hose to be chopping up, though you can always splice back on.

what fun vanagons are. Scott www.turbovans.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Rocket J Squirrel To: Scott Daniel - Turbovans Cc: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Saturday, May 28, 2011 2:56 PM Subject: Re: Anything like this for 1.9L?

You make a good point, though they look like pretty average hoses to me. Special bends, maybe?
