Done at my local AC specialist. Been going there for over ten years. There as an ownership change two years ago but prices remained the same. The alternative shop I mentioned in my other posting actually does contract work with local VW dealerships. I know how much they are paying. Seems almost criminal to charge their customers what DavidM and DonnaS. I discovered the alternative shop after questioning the now defunct Ron Price VW why there was 28 addition miles on my car when they are only 2 miles away from my house. It was under warranty at the time so money issue. The one I use now I discovered after a local shop I bring my cars to, told me to pick-up my car there. They do not add any mark-up. Just referring regular customers to the shop.

The system was working fine around 10 years ago but lasted maybe one year after a $450 refill with freon at the VW dealer. It's still the freon (R12) system and I'm not prepared to pay the cost of regular R12 refills so it has to be a conversion to R134.
