Put two or three small pan-head screws around the perimeter so it can't crawl back out past the clamp - this fitting needs an internal lip just as much as any of the other hose fittings in the system. If it's the right size, copper plumbing with the end capped or crimped and soldered, and a wire soldered around the inner end for a lip. If you know someone with a lathe, turn a piece of Corian or whatever. Get a properly sized bolt long enough to have a smooth section. Cut off the threaded part and solder a wire around the end for a lip (the steel will have to be very very clean, freshly sanded and tinned beforehand). Yrs, d |
