Your timing is perfect with this. Just yesterday we were camping in Seward, AK 125 miles from home, I went to turn our `87 Westy Syncro around in the entrance to a day use State Park parking area when the shift lever broke off in my hand. Had to drive home using a vise grip pliers and a phillips screw driver as a shift lever. Upshifting worked well but downshifts to second and first were challenging.

Mark in AK
