Exactly my plan. Keep an eye on things. Bring along the old sender to bung into the hole if a leak happens, but so far, no leakey.

Hm ... I'll take a look at the setup there and see if I can come up with some clamp scheme. The two allen bolts you used are presently holding a saddle for the external oil cooler hoses. No reason I can't also put an oil sender pipe holder thingy there. Thanks for the tip!
