Oh my goodness, I totally forgot about this. There was quite a bit of
hubub when this came out. Last year, right? Photo is (C) 2010 but the
EXIF data shows 2004?

Anyway, you wrote "My fix was to cut the tube short, turn a solid end

How's that holding up? Did anyone come up with a fix that doesn't
require a lathe?
