re It's be super cool if it was some kind of wrinkly paint to get some texture, too.

I think having it the same color as the dash would be a little dull/boring. but black crinkle paint.. easily found, would be an elegant touch perhaps.

Some larger paint shops will mix and fill a rattle can and most have a spectrometer that they can use to match the color. Call around your area - you might be surprised.

The next solution would be a friend with a airbrush and a pint of mixed paint.

I'll be mounting some gauges atop the instrument pod. A friend of my son's fabricated a nice meter pod out of cold-rolled steel to sit over them and shade the meter faces. It's going to look quite handsome! Now I need to paint it to match the brown plastic of the instrument pod. Anyone know of a paint color that's a good match?

It's be super cool if it was some kind of wrinkly paint to get some texture, too.
