Good to have a spare, even though the 1.9l ones cost more than the 2.1l. But certainly no harm to unplug/replug, exercise the connection. And to get more information, before you do that wait overnight then unplug the ECU and do the resistance check on 24.20, third step. If you get a reading at that plug that's within spec for the temperature (see previous page) it would suggest TII is not the problem. If it's out of spec, check/clean connection at sender, see if that fixes.
