Vanagons do all right in that department. One way to get more front interior driver room is take the driver's seat swivel out of a Westy ,. which is seldom used anyway .. and it just wobbly dead weight anyway .. then your thinner 'was on a swivel' stock seat gives a seating position almost two inches lower.

but ... what ? ..a chevy ? what other cool camping rigs are there besides vanagaon ? Take ..say, a Toyata Chinook type camper .. jus tain't the same baby. Not the same cachet.

There's a Syncro Westy here locally for sale. Now there's a fancy rig for ya. The price on this one is not bad either ...asking $ 21K ..it's pretty stock. I haven't seen it for a year or so. the guy might have me pull the trans for rebuilding .. the owner isn't quite 6', 4" ..but he's 6 feet. Just remove that undeed driver's seat swivel and you have a nice amount more room.
