Is there anything special as far as curves or finish or whatever about the NLA VW bars that complete the kit or can I just find a supplier of metric sized aluminum dowels to finish off the kit? The aluminum rods at my local hardware store are American sizing and without some tweeking they are a little smaller than the receiving brackets and wold rattle.

i once got a set of alumium rods at my local hardware store and cut them to fit..looked perfect.. wrapped the ends w/ electrical tape so no rattle...
