Good question Mr Busch.

What is gained? About 50 pounds if a group 41 battery is installed…. 8>)

For a 1986 and later Camper, wired with one relay, power coming from the main fuse panel; how the Camper came from the Factory. Adding an aux battery under the drivers seat and wired as/per Bentley…..

Taking the liberty to actually hook the aux battery into the Camper circuit between the fuse panel on the divers doorpost, new-aux-battery and the single stock relay. (wiring is no longer technically stock)

What will be powered from the new aux battery (with engine off) ? Fridge (if set-on DC), fridge-fan and water pump. Westy light panel on Stove Front, now showing aux battery voltages.

With engine running, relay will close, now powering the Camper circuit and charging (poorly) the aux battery.

Part of the confusion begins when looking at the Camper Wiring and the Dual Battery Wiring in the Bentley. Neither explicitly shows how to wire an aux battery into the existing Camper wiring. As per Bentley… it assumes the technician knows the basics…

Recall the many auxiliary battery posts that begin: Nothing works, what did I do wrong? How do I actually wire the aux battery to the Camper equipment…. It aint in the Bentley… 8:(
