I want to thank all those that responded to my question yesterday
subject:Really Dumb Question About Aux Batteries Install
Now, especially for those that posted, both on the list and in pmail, please
don't take offense at what I'm about to say.  Every answer I saw was, as far
as I know, technically correct and covered many of the aspects of installing
and wiring in an aux battery in a Vanagon.  But, of the well over a dozen
posts in the thread  , ONLY TWO ACTUALLY ADDRESSED THE QUESTION THAT WAS
ASKED!!! And a couple more responded to the general subject.
I'll plead guilty to a poorly composed message and question, putting the
actual question I wanted to ask at the end with some preamble and
explanation for the question coming before.  And consequently a bunch of
people, really trying to help with the question (or what they thought was
the question) started typing.  That's great that so many are willing and
able to help when needed.  But I've seen this kind of thing a lot in the
past.  A specific question gets asked and a bunch of answers are posted in
return.  And reading the answers it's clear that the responder either didn't
read all the original message or started typing a response without making
sure the question was understood.  A friend of mine once quipped "I asked
for the time of day and got a history of timekeeping and complete plans for
building a clock but still didn't know what time it was".
Again, especially for those that responded, please don't take this
personally, I really appreciate the help I and others get from this list.
Let's all just make sure we are answering the question being asked.  It will
also help with archive searches in the future.
