I'm going to go out on a limb, here, because my 27 years in the Marines did not include any aviation duties. People use the term "helicopter tape" in a generic way to refer to an array of tape products that are used on aircraft. They can be used to protect things like the leading edges of wings and helicopter rotor blades from abrasion damage. 3M makes a bunch of them, and I'm sure there are other vendors. I doubt that you will find any that are suitable as a bearing surface.
